Before investment

Taronga Ventures first engaged with Calumino when the technology was still in its research and development phase. Commercialisation was limited to demonstrative pilots in the aged care sector only and the company had not identified its range of possible use cases.

Taronga Ventures strategic support

Taronga Ventures’ strategic support for Calumino has extended from pre-commercialisation phase to the current growth phase of the company. Taronga Ventures’ support included advice to the founder on company building and leadership, as well as operating model design and team structuring. The team also assisted with introduction of strategic third-party capital and support with negotiation of key production and distribution agreements.

Value created

Calumino raised US$15M+ based on Taronga Ventures’ strategic introductions and support and the company has grown from 10 people to 40 in 24 months.  Calumino is now launching product across 6 countries and has 9 OEM partners who have integrated the technology into their own product lines.
