China Consultant

As the China Consultant for Taronga Group, Cece assists in exploring new business development opportunities for the company in the Greater China market.

Cece came from a mixed background of PE/VC, strategic investment and startup. She has extensive investment experience working with leading funds and Fortune 500 corporate ventures across the United States, Hong Kong and mainland China, as well as entrepreneurial experience establishing her own tech startup.

In her most recent role, Cece served as Investment Principal and Head of Greater China at JLL Spark, a global venture fund under JLL focused on Proptech investments. Cece built the China office from scratch and was in charge of strategy planning, tech investment and corporate partnership and innovation pursuits for the fund. She also co-founded and launched the 1st ever Proptech accelerator in China for JLL together with industry and technology giants.

Prior to JLL Spark, Cece worked as a TMT investment specialist with VMS Legend Capital Investment Funds in HK, US$3B PE/VC funds co-GP by VMS (Chow Tai Fook) and Legend Capital (Lenovo). Cece led and managed US$100M+ investments in full cycle across AI, Big Data, Corporate Service, eCommerce, Entertainment, FinTech etc. Among the companies she invested, two have been listed and successfully exited, namely iQiyi (NASDAQ: IQ) and PPDai (NYSE: PPDF), while the rest have grown to be industry-leading investments (Pony.AI, TalkingData, Miaopai etc.).

Previously, Cece was an Investment Professional at Cintra, Ferrovial based in Austin, Texas where she structured and executed US$8B+ large scale infrastructure investment and acquisition deals across North America. Prior to that, Cece co-founded a market research and data intelligence startup that achieved sustainable growth and established stable business relationships with major corporates in China.

Cece gained her Master of Science in Finance degree from the University of Virginia. She is bilingual in English and Mandarin, full professional in Cantonese.
