News

21 October, 2024. Taronga Group today announced the expansion of their senior team, with Justin Travlos commencing as Director. Justin will support Climate and ESG-related emerging technology companies and accelerate the tech-enabled transition of Real Assets for their Institutional partners. He joins Taronga Group from AXA IM Alts, where he held the role of Global Head of Responsible Investment.

Jonathan Hannam, Taronga Group’s Co-founder & Managing Partner said: ‘’Justin brings a wealth of Real Asset expertise, and a broad global perspective gained from over two decades of deep international experience spanning investment management, sustainable Real Assets and real estate development. We are delighted to have Justin join the team as we continue to support the sustainable transition of the Real Asset sector.”

Justin recently returned to Asia after six years in Europe, where he held dual leadership roles at AXA Investment Managers; initially leading the UK and Nordics Real Assets business and overseeing real estate asset management and development as UK Country Head, while spearheading and subsequently leading the global sustainability and responsible investment function for the AXA IM Alts platform.

‘’The value of Real Assets is inseparably interconnected with technology and sustainability. These global macro-trends are driving innovation, disrupting traditional practices, and opening new value streams within both operating businesses and hard-asset performance. With over a decade of working at the intersection of these sectors, Taronga Group is uniquely positioned to connect these themes and subsequently, to accelerate the growth of its globally relevant portfolio companies,’’ said Justin.

“On returning to Asia, I committed to leveraging my international expertise to catalyse and accelerate investment into adaptation and transition through sustainable urban growth, energy transition and natural capital strategies. I can’t think of a better platform, nor more skilled colleagues, from which to execute on this ambition. I look forward to working across the business to bring this to life.’’

Justin has previously held a number of industry roles across the European Real Assets sustainability ecosystem including; Sustainability Committee member and Chair of the European Real Estate Association (EPRA) (2019 – 2023), Sustainability Committee member of the European Association for Investors in Non-Listed Real Estate (INREV) (2019 – 2023),  Real Estate Working Group member of the WEF Net Zero Cities Group ( 2019 -2022), Representative member of the UN-convened Net-Zero Asset Owner Alliance (NZAOA) (2021 – 2023), Real Estate Expert Advisory Group member of the UN-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) (2022 – 2023).
