Investment Manager / Associate role
Taronga Ventures is currently looking for an Investment Manager / Associate to join its team. The role will involve financial analysis, operations, reporting and commercial management. Examples of likely duties include:
- Executing investment transactions including managing end-to-end due diligence activities – being commercial, financial, technical and legal assessments utilising our vendors and diligence partners where required
- Long-term management of portfolio investment value through strategic, commercial, operational, governance and founder support
- Strategic value creation for investor partners through market insights, technology and innovation advice and support with portfolio solution implementation
- Identifying, building and maintaining relationships with existing and prospective real asset institutions and target investee companies
- Assisting with overall operations, reporting and governance of Taronga Group entities and its portfolio companies
What we are looking for
The likely candidate will have 3-5 years’ experience in a transactions role, supported by a minimum 3-years’ experience at a top-tier investment bank, a venture capital / private equity firm, management consultancy (MBB or equivalent) or the transaction services team at a Big Four. Additionally, experience working in corporate law and/or an engineer or science-based role would be highly regarded. Key skills include:
- Strong communication, including written and spoken formats, and the ability to create and present high quality investment analysis and recommendations
- Highly numerate with advanced understanding of corporate and investment finance concepts, and the ability to build and refine financial models
- Experience with company development, particularly earlier-stage companies, covering core functions like product development, go-to-market strategy, marketing, sales, operations and finance
- Capacity and proven experience prioritising multiple competing commitments
- Commercial acumen, a strong work ethic and goal orientation
- Highly regarded: Multi-lingual (English with either Japanese, Mandarin, Korean or Arabic language)
The role is based in Sydney or in Singapore. Candidates should be open to a degree of travel.
