Background

Lexus partnered with Spacecube to create an elevated hospitality destination for its flagship presence at the iconic Melbourne Cup Carnival in Melbourne, Australia. The build needed to combine the prestige and luxury of the Lexus brand with the flexibility and sustainability advantages of modular construction. The brief called for a memorable trackside experience within the Birdcage precinct that could be delivered fast while feeling permanent in quality and detail.

Solution implemented

Spacecube deployed its Build System to construct the LANDMARK by Lexus pavilion (the largest of nine modular structures at the event) using a mix of off‑the‑shelf modular components and several custom elements. Spread across three levels and 1,460 sqm, the pavilion’s design delivered engaging spaces with high‑end finishes and tailored brand expression. By leveraging reusable façade modules and pelmet systems, the build achieved a sense of architectural permanence despite being a temporary installation. Installation on site was completed in just five weeks, showcasing the system’s speed and adaptability.

Outcome delivered

The finished Lexus pavilion provided a premium, immersive hospitality experience for guests at one of Australia’s most prestigious sporting events. Beyond the striking three‑storey presence and bespoke interiors, the project demonstrated how modular construction can meet luxury event infrastructure briefs with reduced waste and enhanced reuse prospects. The reusable nature of the Spacecube Build System means the pavilion components can be reconfigured and redeployed for future activations, underlining the sustainability and long‑term value of the solution.
