Khansaheb has become the first contractor in the GCC to use a battery energy storage system (BESS) to power large construction equipment, implementing BESS to power tower cranes and replace diesel generators on construction sites.
Up to 85%
reduction in carbon emissions
128 tonnes of carbon emissions saved over 12 months
32 times quieter than a diesel generator
Delivers reliable power for peaking power loads
Background
Khansaheb has become the first contractor in the GCC to use a battery energy storage system to power large construction equipment. The firm is using Ampd Energy’s ‘Enertainer’ to power 2 tower cranes on a flagship project, Serenia Living on Palm Jumeirah in Dubai.
Solution implemented
Ampd Energy is a leading manufacturer of advanced battery energy storage systems that offers a cleaner, quieter, and more data-rich alternative to traditional diesel generators used on construction sites and for the heavy industries. Ampd Energy has captured a significant share of its home markets in Asia Pacific, producing over 250 of their battery systems, and now pursuing expansion into North America and the GCC.
Outcome delivered
By replacing the use of diesel generators, Khansaheb is reducing the comparative carbon emissions by up to 85%, utilising a system that is 30 times quieter, emits minimal diesel fumes, and reduces risks related to diesel handling. The two deployed Enertainer solutions are forecast to reduce carbon emissions by 128 tonnes over a 12-month period.
